Z Chair

The Z Chair was designed by Poul Thorsbjerg Jensen in 1957 and stands among the most iconic pieces of the Danish Mid-Century Modern era. One of the distinctive features of the chair is its unique Z-shape, formed by the fusion of the V-shaped arms and legs.

The Z-shaped geometric lines give the chair a sharply articulated silhouette, while also allowing for ergonomic support. The chair is crafted from solid wood and comes with hand-sewn cushions, upholstered in leather or fabric.

Designer Poul Thorsbjerg Jensen (1922-2006) was a Danish furniture designer and manufacturer. He spent most of his career at Christian Jensen's Møbelsnedkeri, the furniture company founded by his grandfather, Christian Jensen, which developed and produced furniture largely for export to the United States. His best-known design is the sculptural Z Chair from 1957, made at the family workshop.
