System Cado Rail

The rail is the backbone of System Cado. It fixes to the wall and carries every shelf and cabinet in the system, so the furniture lifts off the floor entirely.

Poul Cadovius designed System Cado in 1960, twelve years after the Royal System that made his name, refining the same idea of moving furniture off the floor and onto the walls.

Rails come in three lengths and four wood finishes. Screws and keys are brass. To plan a full configuration, use DK3's online configurator or contact us.

Designer Poul Cadovius (1911-2011) trained as an upholsterer before founding his furniture company, Royal System, in 1945. His idea was to move furniture off the floor and onto the walls, leaving more space in the room, and it gave rise to Royal System (1948), System Ultra (1957) and System Cado (1960). Over his career he held more than 400 patents. In 2009, at the age of 98, he was approached by DK3 founder Jacob Plejdrup to relaunch Royal System, and today DK3 holds the licences for all three systems and the Pia Chair. Brand
