Designer Vilhelm Theodor Lauritzen (1894-1984), a Danish architect renowned for his contributions to modern life in the 1930s, established his own firm in 1922 after graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His architectural legacy includes Copenhagen landmarks such as Radiohus, Folkets Hus (now Vega), and Terminal 2 at Copenhagen Airport, all recognized for their modernist design. Radiohus, completed in 1941 and celebrated as one of the 20th century's architectural masterpieces, exemplifies Lauritzen's functionalist principles, with every detail—from door handles to furniture—designed in collaboration with Finn Juhl, reflecting a blend of Nordic functionalism and sculptural forms.
