Patera

This spherical pendant emits a glare-free glow of light, which is reflected by the small diamond-shaped cells that comprise the fixture. The lamp’s structure ensures that the light is glare-free from above 45 degrees while also allowing the fixture to emit a downwardly directed light as well as an upward radiance, illuminating the ceiling to lend further ambiance to its surroundings. Each cell shapes the light by creating soft transitions between direct and reflected light to emphasize the pendant’s remarkably radiant sphere.

The Patera pendant, designed by Øivind Slaatto, draws inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence, showcasing a poetic 360-degree glow through its meticulously crafted diamond-shaped cells. Its mathematical structure ensures glare-free illumination from angles above 45 degrees and direct light below, adaptable to dimming settings. Simultaneously, it offers atmospheric upward light, enhancing ceilings without overpowering the space. Slaatto aimed to offer contemporary spaces soft, dynamic, and glare-free lighting, enriching ambiance. Available in various sizes, the Patera serves as a luminous focal point, suitable for any setting, from grand venues to intimate rooms. Whether alone or grouped, its Danish design stands out, adding allure to spaces even when unlit.
