Tomoshi Portable Lamp

$370.00

This small portable lamp, which takes its name from the Japanese word for light, is an exceptional example of design to shape light. In the words of it's designer, Oki Sato, "Tomoshi allows light to be freely placed, hooked, and carried elsewhere, evokes a sense of nostalgia and familiarity, while at the same time bringing freshness to our daily lives." The design blends a clean and minimalist aesthetic, with soft curves and subtle details.

This portable table lamp emits a soft, glare-free light, that illuminates the surface below and provides some ambient light. The replaceable LED light source is contained towards the base of the design. With a minimalistic expression and quality materials, it is designed with longevity and usability in mind.

Designer

In 2002, Oki Sato founded nendo design studio, named after the Japanese word for modeling clay, symbolizing creative flexibility. Unlike traditional designers who adhere to the 'form follows function' mantra, Sato integrates the product's history into his minimalist designs, adding subtle details that evoke memories. His use of soft, friendly shapes ensures his creations are immediately inviting and comfortable.
