NJP Floor Lamp

$1,265.00

The fixture provides direct glare-free horizontal light while reflecting some of the light through the rear of the head, illuminating the top of the arm. The ergonomic design of the fixture head shapes the light and gives optimal light direction. A simple mechanical system provides great freedom of movement, so the light can always be set in the ideal position in the workspace. The shade is painted white on the inside, reflecting comfortable diffused light.

The NJP series was designed by Oki Sato, founder of nendo design studio, with the intention of producing a new interpretation of the classic anglepoise lamp – with all its familiar details – in a contemporary design, featuring functions adapted to modern working life, both in the office and at home. The NJP Floor lamp’s flexible head and arms provide exceptional adjustability, which is often lacking in standard floor lights. It is well-suited for use as a reading light beside an armchair or sofa, as the flexible design means the light can easily be adjusted to provide optimal lighting. It features an LED light source and is designed with the source positioned high up as to avoid dazzling and unpleasant lighting. One refined yet practical detail is its chimney-shaped head reflecting some of the light through the rear and therefore illuminating the top of the arm – while allowing the heat from the light source to escape.

Designer

In 2002, Oki Sato founded nendo design studio, named after the Japanese word for modeling clay, symbolizing creative flexibility. Unlike traditional designers who adhere to the 'form follows function' mantra, Sato integrates the product's history into his minimalist designs, adding subtle details that evoke memories. His use of soft, friendly shapes ensures his creations are immediately inviting and comfortable.
