Jeppe Utzon Table #2

Jeppe Utzon Table #2 is an exclusive solid wood table, created for DK3 by the Danish designer and architect Jeppe Utzon. The table has a characteristic expression with clear references to the traditional Danish interpretation of the Shaker style.

The natural structure of the wood is beautifully united with the unique carpentry joints. An example is the use of wooden wedges in the leg construction. Apart from ensuring a stable construction, the wedges also take centre stage in the visual design of the table, instead of being hidden away.

Designer Jeppe Utzon is a third-generation architect and fourth-generation designer, and the grandson of Jørn Utzon, the architect of the Sydney Opera House. From his studio in Copenhagen he works across Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America, on projects ranging from private homes in Denmark to eco-resorts in Nicaragua and social housing in Bolivia. His design career began with an award-winning barbecue for Electrolux, and furniture and product design now make up half of his work.
