The Jeppe Utzon Table #1 balances a sublime contrast between the naked wooden material and the selected crafted details. The table has a simplicity that allows the beautiful natural characteristics of the wild wood to take the centre stage.

The table is made in a classic solid wood construction, and beneath the tabletop there is a discrete steel cable, which can be adjusted with an ordinary wrench to achieve stability and prevent deflection over the years.

Designer Jeppe Utzon is a third-generation architect and fourth-generation designer, and the grandson of Jørn Utzon, the architect of the Sydney Opera House. From his studio in Copenhagen he works across Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America, on projects ranging from private homes in Denmark to eco-resorts in Nicaragua and social housing in Bolivia. His design career began with an award-winning barbecue for Electrolux, and furniture and product design now make up half of his work.
