Remake Bench

A bench by Jonas Herman of Herman Studio for Form & Refine, made from recycled beverage cartons pressed into sheets. The process keeps the mix of paper, plastic and aluminium together, so the material can be recycled again at the end of its life. It is worked with the same screws, tools and methods as wood. An oversized crossbar with large perforations shows off the construction and the sheet material itself.

Designer Herman Studio is a Copenhagen design practice founded in 2012 by architects Helle Herman Mortensen and Jonas Herman Pedersen, working across furniture, lighting, ceramics, textiles and interiors. Each piece begins in the workshop with a close study of how it will be built, then moves through sketches, models and prototypes until a single clear outline remains. That focus on contour is what makes their designs for Form & Refine simple to read at a glance and easy to recognise. Brand
