String Furniture

Nisse and Kajsa Strinning designed the String shelf in 1949 for a competition run by the Swedish publisher Bonniers, which asked for an affordable, wall mounted bookshelf that could expand. Shelves, cabinets and drawers hook onto the same side panels, so a wall can be extended or rearranged as the room changes.
