Blu Dot is an American furniture brand founded in 1997 by three college friends, two architects and a sculptor, who couldn't find modern design they actually liked at prices they could afford. Based in Minneapolis, every piece is conceived, designed, and refined entirely in-house, giving the brand rare end-to-end control over its work. That commitment traces back to their very first designs, sketched on butcher paper in a 300 square foot studio, a scrappy origin that still shapes the way they operate today. Blu Dot's work is known for marrying wit and practicality: functional, original, and quietly confident without taking itself too seriously. In 2018, the brand received the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in the Product Design category, cementing its place among the most respected names in contemporary furniture.
