X HM13 Coffee Table
Originally designed in 1959, the X table exemplifies the pinnacle of Hvidt & Mølgaard’s work as creative collaborators. Revived from family archives, the table draws its unique design from ancient Egyptian folding chairs. Based on the same principles as the X chair, for which it was originally created to complement, the X table showcases the same sloping frame and discerning use of the material at hand.

Hvidt & Mølgaard is a Danish design duo celebrated for simple forms, meticulous craftsmanship, and functional Scandinavian furniture design. Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen met at Kunsthåndværkerskolens Snedkerskole in Copenhagen, evolving from student and teacher to collaborators who won the 1943 Swedish Slöjdföreningen competition. Their work helped define mid century Danish modern furniture and remains highly sought after by collectors and contemporary interiors.
